Work that will never be published
Quite a few sore heads in the studio this morning after a late one at The Chip Shop Awards ceremony in London last night. It was a school night, but when Beyond won the coveted ‘Chip’ award it was time to get battered — today we’re paying full price, inhaling bacon rolls and black coffee.
The Chip Shop Awards are about fostering and recognising creativity — no boundaries, no rules. This is an opportunity to do whatever you like, working without the constraints imposed by a client’s brief or budget. If you have an idea that’s brilliant, but in horrifically bad taste, you can enter it — anything goes.
We won the award for ‘Best vandalism of an existing ad’, which was nice… winning an award for vandalising somebody else’s work is quite an accolade, so we made sure to celebrate in style. Oh, and the opening act was amazing — go and see Duke if you get the chance!
