The Pixel Painter

Meet Hal Lasko, the 97 year-old man who creates incredible pixel art using Microsoft Paint from Windows 95.

Hal is better known as Grandpa, he worked as a graphic artist back when everything was done by hand. This touching documentary gives you an insight into his work and explains how his family introduced him to the computer and Microsoft Paint long after he retired, he was well into his 80s at that time.

Now, Grandpa spends ten hours a day moving pixels around his computer paintings. He is partially-sighted, yet his work is an amazing blend of pointillism and 8-Bit art. Check out Hal’s website to find out more.
